Drift Mitigation Class

 December 20, 2017

Dear Commercial Applicator:

On January 08, 2018, a Drift Mitigation Training class will be held in conjunction with the Arkansas Agricultural Aviation Association’s (AAAA) annual meeting. This training will be held starting at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until noon in Salon C at the Downtown Marriott in Little Rock, AR (3 Statehouse Plaza, Little Rock, AR 72201). No Pre-registration is necessary; however, you must sign the attendance sheets upon arrival for the class. You are NOT required to attend this training unless you receive an additional letter from the State Plant Board stating your attendance is mandatory.

Since this is such an excellent training opportunity for interested persons, the Plant Board and the AAAA would like to extend an invitation to any commercial applicator (ground or air) that would like to attend this training. To show the Plant Board’s confidence in the quality of this training, we will maintain a list of persons who voluntarily attend the training. In the event an attendee has enforcement action taken against them by the Plant Board for an alleged violation that occurs during 2018, the fact the applicator attended the training class will be taken into consideration when the penalty assessment is determined for the alleged violation.

If it is mandatory that you attend this training you will be sent a separate notice stating your attendance is required. As required by the Plant Board’s regulations on Pesticide Classification, a part of any enforcement action taken by the Plant Board regarding the misuse of a pesticide classified as "B" or greater (at present this includes 2,4-D containing pesticides) requires mandatory attendance at the drift mitigation training class.

If any questions arise regarding this training, please do not hesitate to contact me at 501-225-1598.
